Science has some stupid names.
My histology textbook is talking about how bone can’t be sectioned until it is decalcified. You would think that bone that hasn’t been decalcified would just be called calcified bone because that makes sense. However, it is apparently called undecalcified bone. Some scientist out there is fucking with us.

limetastic replied to your post: So apparently I’m going to try intermittent fasting starting tomorrow. Wait. … There are cheat days for Lent?! WHAT? Nobody told me anything about that. Well, I’ve heard people claim that Sundays are OK to break your Lenten promise; but that could also be people who want to make an excuse. I don’t know. I meant cheat days from my diet though.

So apparently I'm going to try intermittent...
First, I give up alcohol and cheat days for Lent. Now, I’m imposing a new restriction. It will at least be an interesting experiment.

pachorrrka replied to your post: The poor man’s Cochon De Lait was a success What would it take for you to come cook a meal or two for me? I’ll get started on a price sheet. This will be my first step towards getting on Top Chef, where I will likely be eliminated after the first challenge due to my inability to recreate a classic, American dish into something that no regular person...

The poor man's Cochon De Lait was a success
Didn’t exactly have a whole suckling pig to roast over a fire, but a Boston butt in the oven subbed just fine. I just took the Boston butt, flipped the meat so the fat cap was on the bottom, and made a diagonal slice and split it open. Then, I made a few cuts across and added a generous portion of garlic and onion; seasoned it with some sea salt, black pepper, and Tony Chachere’s; and...

Kudos to Muses, who threw an impromptu "parade"... →
Read the article to get the full story. The fact that there are people who are this hateful is disgusting.  What kind of 20 something year old male can call himself a man if he is going to pick on an 11 year girl trying to watch a parade.  I’m just glad to see Muses and other local organizations come together to try and show this girl that the actions of a few immature jerks shouldn’t...

I never want to do a burpee again.
I did the first Games Open WOD for “fun” since I’m not participating in the Open officially. I hit 80 which was the minimum I was looking to hit, so that’s OK. I was hoping I could will power my way to above 90, but it just wasn’t happening. I could blame it on doing a 5x5 of press before, but my legs were the sorest part when I was doing them. 80 isn’t too bad...

I have spent my day doing nothing except watching...
So far my list includes, but is not limited to: Egon Schiele and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec prints Black board and magnetic strip for knives to put in the kitchen Some taxidermied animal (besides ducks because I have two already) A large chest to use as a coffee table I am sure almost none of these will actually happen, but my imaginary apartment looks really badass.

My thoughts after watching Drive last night
1) It was very good; but some parts moved a bit too slow, beyond simply establishing a mood into slowing the movie territory. I’m not saying the movie overall should have been faster paced but just certain scenes. 2) While the storyline isolated from everything else was kind of lacking and overdone; the acting, directing, soundtrack, etc. really set it apart and gave it a fresh take. 3)...

r2-she2 replied to your post: I just learned there are people out there who just make a bunch of remixes of popular rap songs to contain Christian lyrics to post on YouTube. How can I find these, I need to laugh. Pretty much type any popular rap song and type “Christian remix” behind it, and you’ll find it. Like Go Hard in the Paint.
